Product Description
Turkmen scarf. This ornate scarf is traditionally worn by women in the north of Iran, Turkmenistan, and Central Asia. The bright colours and pastoral patterns are usually synonymous with joyful ceremonies such as the ‘Norooz’ (‘Nevruz’, ‘Newroj’) New Year festivities marking the Spring Equinox, as observed in the Near East, Caucuses, Iran, and Central Asia.
The material is predominantly a Viscose blend. The fabric is sturdy and well suited for formal and casual wear during moderate and cold seasons. The delicate material is robust for everyday wear, but care should be taken to avoid snagging on Jewellery and protruding items and accessories.
Given the traditional make of the scarves, the dimensions are not strictly set but are around 120cm by 120cm.
